BIOMAX SYSTEM PLANNING

Plan the whole wall, not just the sheets.

A practical BioMax installation starts with the room. Measure the surfaces, check the substrate, position the joins and decide how corners, edges and the floor junction will finish.

Work through the plan

THE STARTING POINT

Build the specification around the room.

A sheet can be the right material for a project while the proposed layout still needs work. Doorways, services, corners, existing finishes and cleaning routines all affect the finished wall. Sketch each elevation before ordering and identify the details that need a profile or seal.

This is a planning guide rather than a fitting specification. Confirm the current BioMax product instructions, component compatibility and any site requirements with Saniclad and the installer before work begins.

A PRACTICAL SEQUENCE

Four decisions to make before fitting.

01

Measure and map

Record wall heights and widths, then locate openings, outlets, pipework, corners and changes in level. Note where a full sheet can be used and where cuts will be unavoidable.

02

Check the substrate

Identify the existing wall construction and any loose material, unevenness or moisture concerns. The surface and chosen adhesive must be suitable for the intended installation.

03

Place the sheets and joins

Compare 2.44 m and 3.05 m sheets against the wall height and access route. Plan vertical joins deliberately rather than discovering their position during fitting.

04

Finish every junction

Specify the treatment of corners, exposed edges, abutments and the wall-to-floor junction. Include compatible sealing details in the plan.

COMPONENTS TO CONSIDER

The details around the sheet matter.

Match each proposed detail to a compatible component before you finalise quantities.

Joining profiles

Plan how adjacent sheets meet and where vertical joints will appear on each elevation.

Edge profiles

Identify sheet terminations at exposed edges, openings and changes in material.

External corners

Consider exposed corners early, especially where they may be knocked or cleaned frequently.

Internal corners

Decide how adjoining walls will meet and whether a coved corner detail suits the layout.

Wall-to-floor finish

Consider the floor junction and whether BioMax skirting is appropriate for the project.

CHECK THE RANGE

Confirm compatibility.

Saniclad lists BioMax profiles and skirting separately. Check sizes, colours and installation requirements against your selected sheets.

BEFORE INSTALLATION

Give the wall condition a proper review.

Saniclad’s PVC cladding guidance calls for a clean, dry, flat and sound surface. Where the wall is painted, tiled, uneven or at risk of moisture penetration, the preparation and fixing method may need particular attention.

Choose adhesive and sealing products for the panel, substrate and site conditions. Follow the current instructions for each product, including any movement allowance and curing time, rather than relying on one general method for every room.

FINAL PLANNING CHECK

Before you place an order.

A short review now can reveal missing components or an awkward sheet layout before work begins.

  • Every wall measured and openings marked
  • Sheet length and finish selected
  • Delivery and access route checked
  • Substrate condition reviewed
  • Joins, corners and exposed edges detailed
  • Floor junction and sealing planned
  • Current product instructions checked
